Just when you thought all laptops were starting to look the same in terms of features, it appears Lenovo is working on some ThinkPads with Star Wars character R2-D2 type functionality and Superman flying capabilities.
Well, either that or Lenovo is just getting very clever with their viral marketing. On the site www.Lenovo-Tapes.com are posted three seperate videos that the creator of the website claims to have obtained from a friend that worked at Lenovo. In the videos we see a ThinkPad that emits a hologram of the user, somewhat like Princess Leia'sappeal to Obi Wan beingreplayed by R2-D2 in Star Wars(get it right Lenovo, the Skywalker name of the video that alludes to Star Wars doesn't quite fit the fact a robot was responsible for the hologram). This is obviously a great feature for making your boss think you're at work still when you've actually left early for the bar.
Another video shows a drop test in which the ThinkPad gains Superman flying capability to save itself from a drop:
And finally a video that shows a laptop saving itself from spilt coffee by raising a shield right as the coffee is about to hit the keyboard:
