    Lenovo Intros Updated S10-2 Netbook
    [IMG]
Lenovo today introduced its updated S10-2 netbook, improving on the previous S10 netbook. It features a 10.1-inch LED-backlit screen and an Intel Atom N270 processor. The S10-2 is 4mm thinner and almost a half-pound lighter than the previous S10, and also features a larger keyboard (about 90% full size). The touchpad is also larger. Other new features include optional 3G connectivity and Dolby headphone technology for a better multimedia experience. The S10-2 comes with battery saving software that the company claims will help it achieve up to 30 percent better battery life than the S10.
The S10-2 will be available in four colors: white, black, grey, or pink. It will be available at the end of May and start at $349; 3G models will start at $399.

Darn, still no trackpoint? Yes, I know TrackPoints are supposed to be a ThinkPad-only feature but frankly I don't care.

The issue with the N280+GN40 chipset combo is that it consumes 16.5W of power, compared to the N270+945GSE's 8W. That is a huge difference for netbook makers, especially in terms of battery life. Also, the N280 hardly offers any performance gain over the N270.

CMIIW...Actually, I'm gonna buy the Ideapad S10, which I found very interesting as it came with Express Card Slot. But now Lenovo gets rid of that slot on this new Ideapad... >.<
