I have a z370 and have been happily impressed with it.
The keyboard and touchpad have a very nice feel. A USB 3.0 would be nice, but the eSATA is not a bad substitute.
However, the overall build quality definitely surpasses the ASUS K53TA, and, I would venture to say, most other consumer grade notebooks. I don't know how much of it is the aluminum panel surrounding the keyboard, but this simply feels like a significantly nicer and more expensive machine than it was (I picked it up for just under $500). I plan to swap out the HD for a SSD and will have resolved one of the two cons listed in this review:
Cons
Glossy plastic smudges easily
Slow hard drive
If you catch a deal on this model, don't hesitate! Many laptops seem to have a short-coming which you only realize after thorough research or using the laptop for a few days. I have yet to discover one for the z370.
PS-For reference, I am currently familiar with the following laptops (all consumer grade):
HP Pavilion 4500ze
Dell Inspiron 1545
HP DM1z (pre 9/21/11 version)
ASUS K53TA
Acer Aspire One netbook
