    1600$ Lolwut i found a Y510P with SLI for 1099$.

Also, i got a little over 4 hours of battery life on my Y410p, which is a smaller Y510P with one GPU and optimus, got it for 800$ too.

A good option. What keeps lenovo from being perfect option? Take the T series which is Lenovos best design and add a 760m to 780 option, drop the optical drive and make Asus Rog style cooling, 2 x ssd raid option. I love the Military specs and durable case materials on thinkpad. Make these additions and you have the perfect laptop
Is this Y version easy to open up the back and due fan maintenance etc? Great options I prefer to this if you dont need the sli power are the Dell Latitude E6450 15.6 mil spec, magnesium and amd 8790m with up to 5 year warranty, and the Msi Ge 14 inch, both easy access to the back. The Dell has option of 5 year warranty, that means you get a mid range notebook graphics card, best construction in this range and 5 year warranty option for around 1500 bucs!! Anything breaks they can come to your house and fix it ( that is longevity as long as you are not looking for high range power )

Ive opened up the back on mine to replace the HDD with a SSD, but you can remove all the parts if you want. Even though the Y510p is a haswell, you can use this video for dissasembly:

I do love the design of the T series, but i also do like the styling of the Y/Z series as well.

You'd best buy a desktop instead.

Oddly enough, Alienware is the only vendor of consumer-grade laptops that advertises its laptops as durable. Whether or not people think Alienware's laptops are durable is irrelevant. All of the competitors advertise features and low costs. If Lenovo were to do as you suggest, the prices would increase a great deal, penny-pinchers would call its Ideapads overpriced, and it would likely lose sales. Many people who buy consumer-class laptops want to save as much as possible at all costs: look at the silly vitriol people spew about Alienware's prices.

Right now I would not consider Lenovo as a gaming machine because of the cheapness but make it as I suggest I would gladly pay extra, I am not the buy the cheapest option type of guy, some want the best and quality others will settle for lower quality for bang for the buck.
I would buy a desktop if I did not travel so much and live overseas. Also Alienware is the only one that will come to your house and fix your computer or laptop overseas so it is the only option ( have just used warranty service its awesome and I live in S America!) I still may get one since for example my idea of a awesome desktop is a Silverstone Ft-03 mini, you can take it easily on an airplane with you, take off all the sides for easy cleaning, one ssd, one 780 gtx, one fan love it. Now As Far as Alienware I own two laptops m17x m18x in sli's. They are hands down better built then any other consumer notebook. What sets the apart is this. You can get a 4yr warranty and a 4yr accident warranty. No one stands behind their product like that. Do you pay for it? Yes you do but imagine having Alienware give you a new computer if they cant fix yours 3 1/2 years from now. So if you pay 500 or 1000 dollars more you are also getting 1 or 2 years longer life. You can buy a cheap Lenovo sli for 1500 or by the 3k Alienware you can bet the lenovo will need replacing in 2 years or at least to upgrade graphics whereas a maxed out Alienware can keep going and the pride of ownership you have will last.

Except a maxed AW 17 is like $3-4k whereas the Y510P SLI starts at 1.1k maxes at 1.4k. By the time the 2 years of warranty are over, you will have enough money saved to buy a new laptop :)

As for build quality, it is nowhere near the legendary Lenovo X/T/W series, but it's build quality is the same as the Thinkpad Edge, and overall decent.

For 600-700$ you can build a rig with a haswell i5 and a GTX 760, which will pretty much play any game at a fraction of the cost of a Laptop.

But what you do sacrifice is portability.

Hi I bought Lenovo Ideapad Y510p on 21st Dec 2013.

When I play game, I have to connect my charger. If i remove charger the game runs slow. I can not play game without connecting charger.

That's probably because the Nvidia Optimus is set to run on the Intel Graphics when its on battery to save power.
