As many industry insiders expected, Lenovo today announced a large number of updates to its ThinkPad product portfolio at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The headline release is the latest generation of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, the world’s lightest 14-inch premium ultrabook. The new year not only marks the 22nd anniversary of the ThinkPad brand but also a major milestone with one hundred million units shipped around the world.

    They fixed the keyboard!

I wonder if it has a Caps Lock light though. ;) I would love to hear a good explanation why Lenovo is leaving that out on its ThinkPads.

I've had a preproduction unit since before Christmas. No caps lock light but there's an on-screen indicator.

It is a lovely machine. This is the first thing that I've seen that can replace my beloved X301. The keyboard feel is excellent, the build is solid, and the touch screen is bright and clear. The return of the TrackPoint buttons is a win for users. Wish it still had indicator lights for those WHAT ARE YOU DOING moments, and I could use a little more space between the function key blocks. And I'll never stop loving the old 7-row keyboard. But overall this is a return to ThinkPad excellence.
