the military of course loves to be at war because it allows them to experiment with new weapons...i mean...defense machines.

anyway, here's a new one, a propellered plane controlled via a laptop computer by the Navy:

Interesting...interesting. Ya know, with all of the different devices available now, it's easy for the average person to have their own mini-CIA operation going.

For radio surviellance, you can always pick up a Icom PCR-1000 (computer controlled reciever) or an Icom R3. The R3 is quite interesting. It's a wideband reciever capable of recieving video. Not only can you pick up over-air broadcasts, but you can view the associated video or pick up video from surviellance camera.

For a little more advanced, one can obtain their very own consumer predator. http://www.rctoys.com/predator.php. This little bad boy offers computer controlled and manual control flight. You can also purchase a wireless camera which can be mounted and recieve the images on your Icom R3 ;-). ThinkGeek also sells a 'rover' which is land based, but can also have a wireless video module attached.

Those were a few items that seem pretty cool. The line gets greyer.....
