Nice deals , btw any sub 399$ notebook is clearly a better deal then the hyped EEE , in particular the dual core ones .

Honestly, unless you are currently waiting in line and using a public wifi connection, its safe to assume all these brick-and-mortar deals are spoken for.

Id caution anyone to look to far into getting a dell, since the deals there dont seem TOO special, considering the last $450 coupon and the upcoming refresh on their 15.4" laptops.

The Vostro 1500 at 599 with those specs is one of the better deals Dell has offered on that model for quite some time...would anyone care to hazard a guess if it could go lower (or get a bump in specs) as the holiday season wears on?

Tried to get the Vaio at BB. Arrived just before 5AM. Had to wait about 10 minutes to get in. Yep, they were gone by the time I got there. :(

I did the Best Buy, but for 500GB Western digital HD. I got there at 4 am and was a city block from the store at the end of the line. Got into the store 10 minutes after they opened. Direct line to the HD... score. I think the trick is to find the deal that not everyone is aware of that you want. I heard that for the Sony's you had to get there by midnight.

Its funny (but annoying) with all the people coming into circuit city looking for the 299 and 399 laptops. I happen to work in the computer department there and I was being asked all day about those notebooks. It's amazing that people expect to come in a few hours after we've been open and expect to get a laptop at those prices.

I don't know about ordering online, but if you want one of those hot deals on laptops then you probably should get up early and make sure you get a voucher for the one you're looking for. Since they don't sell them to you unless you have one of those pieces of paper, at least not at the store I was working at.

Makes me so glad I no longer work at BB. I remember those painful Black Fridays....I had never even heard about those days until I started working there. Absolute madness.

Now I'm happily away from all that Black Friday/Xmas garbage. :D

    ur kidding right?

i was at best buy at 3am thanksgiving morning - 27 hours :) first in line, got myself on a few tv news and radio stations.

me and a friend were there, we each got both the sony vaio 400 laptop and 230 laptop. we then already sold them on ebay for $850 total profit (about 212.50 each profit). makes me mad too cuz ive done this for 3 years now at best buy this is the first year i didnt keep everything. (i also got 26 100 packs of dvd-rs - yes, that means 2600 dvd-rs). the only think i kept was the dvd-rs. its alot funner when you keep everything cuz its like christmas, but anywayz, its still my favorite day of the year! just hope next year i find something i really want thats a big sale! (last year my big one was the 42" panasonic plasma for 999.99, year before that was a desktop and mp3 player, etc)

my friend also got the desktop for $200 and the sony vaio bundle for $500 - and they accidentally forgot to charge him for the sony bundled laptop....

so now hes selling his old laptop and keeping the sony instead of just selling both of his sonys
