Has anyone checked if the Acronis cloning caused a partition misalignment and whether aligning it can improve the performance any?
Also, any long term users got anything to complain against (such as slowdowns)?

I am really thinking about getting one of these SSD's, at the same time I wondering if I should wait till the Intel drives drop down in price in the next couple of months.
Would 250mb read vs. 100mb read times make a real difference in basic day-to-day tasks (email, Office, Adobe CS4). I am not too concerned about boot-up times at all. -

Note that the V series has been replaced by the V+ which is based on the Toshiba SSD. This promises better performance and is said to not suffer from stuttering. I've got one of the V+ SSDs on order and can do some tests next week if anyone is interested.
Regarding the effect on the difference in read speeds, the faster SSD is better, but a lot of the performance boost relative to HDDs comes from the near-instant access times.

Anyone know what the erase block size is? So that I can align my partitions right. -
Let me answer my own question:
Write: 8Kbyte /Page
Erase: 1MBtye/block (8KByte *128 pages)
Got this from kingston tech support.
