Thanks for the review Ben. Unfortunately the poor video capability would be a deal breaker for me.

This seems excellent for XP users using the old 12" XGA based notebooks, and the new X61. Its a really good idea, and good execution, right until the 1280x1024 max resolution. I understand the limitations of a single USB port and such, but its disappointing nonetheless, and with most notebooks offering WXGA, you don't have much to gain with an external monitor, if at all. The lack of Aero support is annoying as well, but its not a deal breaker like the screen resolution is.

You lost me at the ThinkPad X61. For that price I'd much spend the money on a cheap ThinkPad X6 Ultrabase docking station found on e.g. eBay.

As for an external monitor, I personally have a 20" monitor connected to all notebooks that I use (11"-15") at the office. But to each his own.

Oh yea, the ThinkPad already has a proprietary dock available, never mind then. I forgot about that. I was just thinking about the lowest resolution notebook on the market atm, and the X61 popped into my head as having XGA. God, the X62 needs to be widescreen....XGA is unacceptable in this day and age.

This might also be pretty good for UMPCs, though some of those include very good docks as well, like the OQO model 02 and the Sony UX.
