That is expected based on 3rd quarter results itself. Turion and X2 gave good boost to AMD sales.

But we should never under estimate Intel marketing ARM with billions of dollar on hand.

Ex: I received this HP magazine(like those dell sends). It gave all the line of Desktops and Laptops, but not even one AMD laptop or even desktop!!!
Reason: you guessed it. Marketing dollar from Intel!! :-<
No, wonder many people does not even know that there is AMD mobile processor called Turion, and only know Centrino( not even P-M) by Marketing from Intel.

I wish intel spends that money in research rather for better procs than spending all those billions on Marketing.

yup. intel is a marketing whore. before considering a notebook with amd chip, i was all for centrino. i had this wrong impression about amd chips, which is probably influenced by intel's extensive marketing.

if amd continues its tactics, they will eventually become as big as intel. consumers will eventually become aware of amd's better tech than intel, so they'll most likely switch to amd chips. i'm an example of this.

i should also buy some amd stocks. its growth has been crazy. crazier than intel's.
