It's wishful thinking, but with the size factor maybe we can see some of these showing up in raid configuration.

The question is does a notebook have to be set up with a SATA controller for the mini-PCIe slot in order to use one.

It's pathetic how few notebooks support mini-PCIe SSDs.

I think there should be a diy project.

My laptop a g72, according to intel rapid storage technology, has 2 open sata internal and one open sata external

( e sata) in related news, it should also be possible to connect somthing like this to an e sata port. If there was also a way to make it secure either internal or external.....

It would be awesome if they would use these in normal sized laptops, and use the free spaze to slim down overal dimensions or shuv in more gpu's with a better cooling system, or use the space for bigger batteries.

I'm interested in these so I can put more spinning hard drives in a laptop for more space. With 750GB the biggest 2.5" 9.5mm hard drives right now, having two or three would be nice.

I'm a bit surprised that these don't use the 25nm flash so they could be 80GB and 160GB.

Is it possible to slam one of these drives into the WWAN slot of a HP 6530b or similar notebooks?

Not possible since there is no I/O controller to that slot.
