For the third quarter in a row, Intel has surprised forcasters. What seems to be the problem? If this dual-core notebook thing was supposed to take off, why can't Intel get it's bigself act together?

I was watching CNBC this morning and one of the analysts (who had warned about this 3 weeks ago) said that, from their inventory checks, they noticed that Intel's laptop chips were starting to build up and move slower.
Now I'm wondering...were a lot of people holding off their purchases of Centrino based laptops to wait for the Duo Core, did more people decide to shift over to AMD's chips, or is it a combination of both? -
I also find it interesting that the admins here have deleted yet another insightful thread that discusses the pros and cons of 32bitvs64bit architectures. AMAZING! -

wonder if the fact they are making public that the Yonahs will be replaced before too long with the Meroms has something to do with it. More customers deciding to wait the extra time possibly?
