Seems the 2630QM wasn't updated. Makes the 2760QM that much more worth it imo.

I think this happened because I finally decided to stop waiting and buy a laptop... gotta love the technology industry, because every time I get something new (without fail) there will be a new version very shortly thereafter. I'll be with my 2720QM for a while methinks.

Its great news about the new CPU's but nothing to run out buy to upgrade .If your getting a new laptop it' a good thing but those that have the last generation really have nothing to worry about, the increased clock speeds will hardly be felt unless your running applications that really need it.

Intel does these small clockspeed bumps every generation more or less; with the first-gen Core i-series they did it, along with the Core 2 Duos (several times as a matter of fact).

During the transition you might be able to snag good deals on the replaced models (e.g. i7-2620M, etc). Mostly from smaller vendors that can't clear out inventory as fast though, like Sager.
