Looks like Intel had some sense knocked into them. ;)

At least they kept the "Inside". I always liked that. .

Seeing those five "stickers" suggests that we will NOT see "Core" on notebooks. Whereas before Yonah we had Pentium M notebooks additionally branded as Centrino to signify an all Intel solution (CPU, Chipset and Wireless).

The combination of Pentium M and Centrino was confusing. So the Centrino Duo sticker suggest an end to the confusion and all notebooks will be either Centrino Duo or Centrino Solo.

Gone will be Pentium M and Celeron M. Because there has never been any significant chipset or wireless competition, Centrino will morph into the new notebook CPU name.

    Is that your take?

Nope - not just you Dellguy. I am also fond of the old stickers. ;) I am currently treasuring mine.

The way I see it, this is just a carry-on of the Centrino and Pentium M - we have the Centrino Solo/Duo to signify a unified notebook (Intel CPU, chipset, wireless), and the Core Solo/Duo sticker to show a notebook has different of is missing Centrino components.

So then what will you call the new desktop chip "Conroe"? Will Intel somehow use Core or yet another new name? Perhaps stick with Pentium???

    Meron will be easy: Core64
