No, it doesn't. X1600 is powerful mainstream dedicated GPU and X3100 is very slow integrated GPU (part of NB chipset) with no own memory.

This GPU is not limited by amount of shared memory. More RAM is not equal to more graphic performance in this case.

@Corujo712: The lastest driver version of the Intel x3100 told that they have supported Guitar Hero 3 on Windows (I don't know about mac but I guess it will run as well).

Should Virtua Tennis 3 work on this? Because I am trying to play it but it goes VERY VERY slow!
And can anyone provide me the link to the latest drivers for Windows Home Basic.

I've been trying to get Counterstrike 1.6 to work on my laptop with this gfx card, but all attempts have been futile. I've downloaded the latest drivers; yet playing only results in horrible spikes (4-12 fps).

Can anyone run this ancient game with this card or is it just me?

I have tried CS 1.6 and CS:Source on ThinkPad R61 w/ GMA X3100 and both work good even in 1680x1050 (CS 1.6) and 1280x800 (Source). To play CS:S at good framerates is needed to have lastest drivers.

I've updated to the most recent drivers that Dell provided and it still doesn't work. :\

Would you mind telling me if you're using XP or Vista? I'm not sure if that's the problem.

    Windows XP.

Btw I think that Dell doesn't update their driver. You have to download them from Intel website.

you guys do know that when you run games with intergrated cards that you should turn off aero, this if it doesnt do it,itself, but you should do it urself just to be safe. i have nvida 7150 intergrated and tried playn unreal arena and it lag really bad with aero on,but once i turned it off i could play it on max and 1900x1200. but i should think everyone would know this

Don't use installer. Do it manually by update driver in Windows.

    Only a typo, Thirteen.
And please refrain from bumping older news topics. This question should've been asked in the Hardware forum.

I currently have a laptop with this gpu and I cant wait to get rid of it. I'm a gamer and i feel like murding this nb. It's horrible for gaming. *explodes* I have played COD4 on it and suprisingly i get 30fps with tweaked cfgs. @dogarsahab The X3100 imo would run that software badly. it really isn't for anything demanding on the gpu. as you can see from the 3d benchmarks in the review, it doesn't run well even at 800x600 with old dx9 games. most games dont even have support for anything lower than 800x600. IT ISN'T FOR DEMANDING 3D APPS. anything else will run. hope this helps!

I guess that this should be fine for my engineering softwares....
and it should also be fine with the HD movies..Isnt it...???
I dont want to play games on it as it is obviously very bad at it!!!

Excellent information. Anyone seeing poorer than expected performance with the Quake Live Beta?

I'm just beginning to figure out what this chipset will do game wise.
