I read in the NY Post yesterday that Intel is preparing some processor price cuts. A search from the Seattle Post Intelligence reveals:

Interesting news for this who want to wait it out a bit.

Incremental pressure for sure, but it's rather the other way around ;)

Well, it can only be a good thing for consumers. Finally some pressure from AMD it appears is getting to Intel.

The Intel processors are definitely overpriced. I'd like to stick in a more powerful processor into my notebook - the Pentium M 780 2.26GHz. That's a $699 chip. Compare that to the comparable AMD, which is about half that (around $350 for the Turion 2.2GHz) . . ripoff.

The Pentium D desktop processors should be cut by about 50% from what I read.

    Thanks for posting this information.

this is for dual core desktop processors, not the latest mobile.

    Hm, you're right.

I think the Mobile Pentium M's should fall on their own, now that the Duo is out.

But either way, there is no way I am paying retail! eBay it is . .

Right market law dictates because a better(newer) product is available demand will fall and prices should follow.
