What do all of you think about the dv9000z? Will it be better all-around than the dv8000t? I just returned my dv8000t, due to keyboard issues, and I want to buy another, but if the dv9000z is going to be better, I could just wait for that, depending on how long it takes before it arrives... Will the AMD processor be better than the Core Duo? Faster? Run Cooler or hotter?

Is it worth the wait, or nah?

i'd wait til they come out with Core 2 Duo (merom) versions. the early returns have them smoking the AMDs, and AMD doesn't appear to have anything new on the horizon for at least a year.

That probably won't be for a while though, and I need one before school starts... Although, that would be my first choice. I just don't know whether to wait for the 9000z, or go with the 8000t...

I just got my dv6000z and have found it to be a great overall computer. I have yet to find any flaws with the system...plus it looks great. The only significant thing I'd like to change is the GPU (Geforce Go 7200), but the dv9000z takes care of that with the 7600. Other than the larger screen and the better GPU, the 9000 is essentially the same as the 6000. I would strongly recommend it based on the fact that I am very happy with my 6000 and because you need your's soon. If you want to check out my review...just know that your 3dmark scores would be much better,

Sure I like my dv6000z but one thing I dont. If you slightly press on the frame of the screen and the outter lid you would find it to be loose. I justed shipped mine today and got another one also today. although the new one is better but still is somewhat loose. Oh and off topic the sales people are great but wait till you talk to the support. You will talk to someone in south america that wont be able to understnd you.

The 7600 is comparable to the X1600. There is a detailed guide to notebook vid cards in the gaming sub forum

They attempted to deliver my dv6000t today, but I'm not home at 8:00 in the morning. :( I guess I'll wait until tomorrow...
