The only other option I could possibly want is a dedicated graphics card - something like the ATI mobility x700 or higher would be preferred - similar to what is currently available on the HP dv4000 series. Just wishful thinking, I know, since this is a thin-and-light version and is unlikely they would be able to fit such an option into such a small package - but I can still dream... -
Looks great! HP seems to be steadily getting better and better in notebook quality and aesthetics.
-
I can't see why they couldn't put at least a Radeon X600, the 14" widescreen Asus W6V and Toshiba M50s have em, though the Toshibas have a crippled version, but still a heck of a lot better than Intel's integrated graphics.
What I'd really like to see is the performance difference and battery life of these dual core processors.
I was REALLY thinking these would have dedicated graphics since the first V4000s for example had integrated graphics and the V4000Ts have Radeon GPUS, and these have a T after their model number. -
Hot dog! This is what I've been waiting to hear.
I've been holding out and crossing my fingers for HP to refresh the dv1000 soon. My tax return money just can't come fast enough now....... -
Nice specs! Its high time HP offered a dedicated graphics card option for the dv1000.
Thanks for the post.
Cheers! -
Abaaaaxter! This must be the one week where I am constantly looking for new posts from you! hooray for new models!
-
If the battery life is 3.5 hours or more on this laptop, I will buy one.
-
Dang! Looks nice except one piece of garbage... the Intel 950 GMA. At the very least they could have put a X200 or X300, then give you the option to upgrade to somthing even higher.
-
And just so everyone knows, this is just the first salvo. HP will be updating other notebooks with core duo.
-
Any idea when their business-class lineup will get a refresh?
-
I'm not certain but I'd expect early spring.
-
does anyone know any coupons that you can use to buy this?

I'm looking forward to the dv4000/V4000t refresh - maybe it will have the X1600 .

Thanks alot. I had just found my alternative to the ibm z60t in the dv1000 and read it was soon to be replaced. Will be interesting to see how much these will cost in Australia.
It would have been great to have a dedicated GPU as an option especially as this is their 'entertainment' notebook, and with the dual core a 7200rpm hdd would have been nice too.
Thanks again!
Cheers -
I bought one of these machines the other day. I think it's the perfect blend of design and power. I just love the dv1000t.
