Today HP announced price cuts to the Pavilion dv2x, dv3t, and dv6t notebooks. The new starting price of the dv2z will be $599, down $100, with the dv3t and dv6t both starting at $649. HP also released a new Artist Edition 2 dv6z, featuring the winning design from the 2008 HP MTV Notebook Design Contest. This new dv6z will start at $949, offering 4GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics, and an AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-85 dual-core processor.

HP's web site hasn't been refreshed yet, nevertheless it's good to see prices getting a tad bit more reasonable (at least where the dv2z is concerned). -

If you ask me the design on that dv6z Artist Edition 2 is a bit too loud for me. I like it simple one solid color on the lid. -
