Just call or e-mail HP and see if you can send it back to be installed. It should be possible, but they may not make such a deal -- but no sense in not trying.

i don't understand why they don't offer DDR3 ram or some GT instead of all GS graphics cards
as for you guys talking about not being able to walk into retailers and buy dell...wal-mart sells dell products now -
So no dv2700z? Man that sucks.

uh, HP got rid of the T7700 Processor. The best they have is the T7500. Can anyone say that this was a stupid move from HP or was the T7700 was merely the same as the T7500? I dont get why HP did this.
And I agree a with everyone here. HP seriously need to upgrade the design on their pavilion lines instead of doing minor grades from DV2000 to dv2BLAH BLAH to who know what? DV2800 next?
And the graphics card isnt doing any good that its still at the GS level.
and one more thing, i really think that the verve design is for girls. its just too feminim. yes i completely like the copper color! its amazingly unique for a laptop (Alone... or maybe with a different design), but the verve design has "spirals" and "veins" and "corn looking" and "polk-a-dots" which makes it feel a bit too girl-ish... anyone on the same page as i am or am i just being me? -

What new design? Saw a dv2700 and dv6700 in-store yesterday and they looked identical to the dv2600/dv6600 series.

The only thing that kind of bothers me is that I just bought the 9500t on November 26th and they didn't have the 512 option for the video card.
Now sure it's not the greatest card out there nor have they used the GT series, but still more memory is more memory.
I'm able to play COD 4 and most other games with my current setup just fine. After the video drivers got updated the system rocks.
Additionally, even though there is any noticeable difference between the T7500 and T7700 I still like my T7700 better than a T7500. I do alot of DVD burning and video editing so it works out.
Just my .02

If you received the laptop within 21 days, you can return it no questions asked. If you received it up to 30 days ago, and you can find the config on their web site for your laptop, and the price is different, they will refund you the difference.

My DV9500T arrived Friday and it's sitting under the tree right now -- haven't even peeled the box's tape yet. (Merry Christmas East Coasters it's 12 a.m. on the dot as I type!)
My specs are:
- Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7500 (2.20 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
- 17.0" WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900)
- 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) from 1GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
- 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS
- 240GB 5400RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (120GB x 2) from 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
I used the 30% off coupon and my grand total was $1180 with tax.
If I return it and used the $500 off coupon, I could get a couple of upgrades...
- 3GB Ram
-512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS
** Yes, I admit, I'm guilty of being dazzled by the extra memory for video editing but don't know much about video cards really so I'm not sure if it's effective enough on this system **
- 250 GB hard drive (doing this would go from 2 120GB drives to 1 250 GB drive)
Grand total with tax $1,126.39. Killing the 3GB ram and going with 2 like the one under my tree would take $100 off that.
So...I have to ask. What would you do? -
Mine is going back today! I hate to down grade from my 2.4ghz to 2.2ghz, but the small bump in my graphics card kinda makes up for it.
