Actually Ahmed, I still think it's possible to upgrade your notebook to Windows 7. The person you spoke to is just someone who says what he had been told to say. A quick search on Google showed me that your ethernet does have Windows 7 drivers available ( link). Whether you'll get the quickplay buttons to work I don't know.

But we're getting way off topic here. This thread is for HP Probook 5310m. Please start another thread in the HP forum if you want to discuss further or need assistance.

I like what HP has been doing lately. While Dell is introducing machines that are totally disconnected from what their customer really needs and wants HP continues to push out machines that match customer requirements. Nice review and nice looking machine.

I have had this Notebook since February 2010 and I find that the HP support is POOR!
    .
I have had issues with it randomly opening and closing Windows Internet Explorer 7, as though someone else was controlling my laptop. Did a extensive virus scan and no viruses. Over 3 months had 3 different case numbers assigned by HP and the issue now is mostly resolved, but still has the odd glitch.
The current issue is the Display port cable and the combo audio/mic interface.
I was told by the support staff that Display port is HDMI, but I cannot find a HDMI cable that will fit this and HP does not have one available. Also the combo audio/mike port there does no exist module to connect to this.
NOt very happy with HP as they seem useless!!

Displayport is not HDMI, so you will need a Displayport to HDMI adaptor to hook it up.

There are headphones that have a single cable for audio and mic; look at the Razer Moray+. I use them with my 5310m and have no issues. I have not found a standard adapter for the port, though.

DisplayPort is not the same as HDMI as noted; the support rep is wrong. If you want to do HDMI out then you need a DisplayPort > HDMI adapter. I have one with mine and it works well (check HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!) though there is no audio pass-through.

There is a lot of info in the 5310m owner's lounge:

I noticed the other 5310m thread being bumped...

The SIIG DPport:HDMI adapter supports audio.
