You gotta tell me how a chipset that doesn't even run Aero is better than a cheaper one that does.
Also, I think Linux netbooks also use WSVGA because they're decontented versions of Windows ones.

Very nice. I'm glad HP's stepping up to the plate with these new ultraportables.

Poulsbo doesn't have the same problems with Windows XP.
Also just found out that the US15W is being changed to support up to 2Gigs of RAM so we'll see how that changes things.

I'm liking the dv2. Good balance between power, price, and prettiness.
It's on my watch list, for sure. -
dual core cpu would have been better

allfiredup Notebook Virtuoso
Forgive my cynicism, but the weight savings from removing the optical drive seems no more substantial than the Titanic losing a few deck chairs. My Dell Latitude E6400 has a removable optical drive and an optional "Travel Lite" module (a blank to fill the slot when the optical drive isn't installed). In a 5lb notebook, it seems kinda silly to me. The optical drive weighs much less than my external laser mouse. It might make a difference, proportionately, on a 2.5 Toshiba Protege and the like...but it seems trivial in an almost standard-weight notebook.
Just my two cents.
