Well I suppose 1.86ghz will still be a HUGE step forward compared to my 1.0Ghz Acer tablet :) but then i also have a 2.8Ghz desktop (my preferred setup would be to have a powerful laptop and a docking station, though)...

But regardless, this Elitebook would be my second choice for an ultraportable and has been my first choice for a 14" ever since the 6930p was announced. Perhaps after a while it may be my first choice, depending on whether I end up wanting a disc drive or not. That, I have to give kudos to the team at HP for leaving in.

well, then you just can't. but business needs are others so why still focus on home-user needs (who just happen to know "stereo == good", "dolby == better" no matter if it fits the situation).

I want one!, seems much better than my TZ performance wise, is it much bigger than the TZ and how do the screens compare?, is that a spare mini pci-e card slot I see?, and is it a 9.5MM optical drive or 12.7mm and does it connect vie IDE or SATA?... blu ray swap me thinks...

Does it have a sim card slot?

This machine is at every corner here in Finland.
Of course it has a lot of pros, but when you see it near 2510p, you get a portion of dissatisfaction.
I like Porsche Design gadgets from Siemens at my kitcnen, but I d rather have something less agressive look for notebook.

It has, but it works if you have minipci-e card bundled for that.

when buying the one with the 2.5" hard drive, is it possible to add a 1.8" drive ?
(like the $450 64GB samsung sata slc ssd drives that can be found on ebay now, apparently extracted from some x300 ...)

I'd like to know about the possibility of dual drives too. I've no need for an optical drive, and it would be great to have a large 2.5" drive for files and a small 1.8" ssd for the OS etc.

Alright, so I went ahead and bought one despite not knowing the answer to the question of ssd +hdd, and it appears the answer is "not easily". I have the model with the 2.5" hdd + no optical drive. When I open up the 1.8" drive bay, there's certainly a port there for a drive, but looking at the service manual it seems you need to buy the mount + port adapter to get a drive in there.

Awesome purchase despite this though, I'm very happy.

I have one 2510p and I just love it!!!

I planning upgrading to a 2530p but I need to know one thing first.
I bought an unlocked HSDPA card for my 2510p and it works perfectly.

Does the 2530p accept the same card?

Would need to ask HP if they've added the 2510P (HS2300??) card to the 2530P's bios whitelist. A quick google of "HS2300 2530P" doesn't reveal much. The UN2400 is supported.

Yep, agree with this advice. This sounds to me like something that should be advertised on the back cover of a comic book. If you're not getting a good feeling about the boss, it's time to leave.

I tried it, the HSDPA modem card from the 2510p will not work in the 2530p. Whitelist issue.
