I didn't see an answer to this, but how much does the AC adapter draw when not actually charging the computer? I have a notebook that stays at my desk all the time and is always plugged in. How much power is that using, when the computer is just in standby on my desk?

Power standby varies between models. I have seen some notebooks use something like 1-2w of power in sleep mode. AC adapters use very little power when nothing is plugged into them. No reading on a Kill-a-Watt, super small on a multimeter.
