First of all, great review - very helpful. Google Apps is definitely a great thing for small businesses.
I hate to be the one to point this out again, but I'm even more confused as to why reviews like these are posted on a website called NotebookReview.com
I guess you can say that since it's online, it's mobile, but that doesn't work - 90% of software today is connected to the internet anyway, so by that logic this might as well be a general software review site.
So in this case I see no reason this is in any way biased towards use on notebooks. In fact most people I know use Google Apps from desktop computers at the office.
Again, I really did enjoy the review though, so I suppose I shouldn't be complaining.
Maybe these articles should go in a section other than "Notebook News and Reviews"? -
It will be nice to include how Google Apps stack up against Microsoft online offering. All of those also applicable to individuals or small/medium size businesses:
Own domain admin - domains.live.com (including email)
Online storage - skydrive.com
Email - hotmail.com
Productivity - Office Web Apps
Small business - officelive.com
Other - Windows Live services
.....
I think comparing Google Apps with Microsoft Office isn't the right spot. -
Looks like a great choice for small businesses who can use more of their resources for their actual business.
Ballmer must be getting more and more paranoid each day. -
@SpiruKunev Good points.
Also, Microsoft offers cloud-based "Online Services" that work with or without Office on your desktop, including supported sharepoint collaboration sites, business-grade IM/voice, email, web conferencing, and sharepoint collaboration sites, etc.
There's a fee for this, but as I recall it's pretty inexpensive... in some cases less than the paid Google Apps - depending on what combo you get.
