I wonder how the screen quality is and what nits it is rated at. Is this the same screen as the LG p430, or is LG offer a few thin bezel 14in screens on the market?

Chances are it's got the same low contrast washed out screen with limited vertical viewing angles as every other sub $800-$1000 Windows notebook sadly.

As opposed to sub $800-1000 non-Windows notebooks? ;)

As Hldan said, don't expect top-notch quality with sub $1000 laptops.

It's true the majority of consumer laptops have garbage displays nowadays, but hey, at least the prices are way down from say 6-8 years ago. You want a near to perfect laptop display w/ perfect vertical viewing angles? Be prepared to pay at least $1500.

I gotta say I love the looks of the ID series! Kinda wish I didn't get the Samsung RF411. Well, there's always Ivy Bridge heh? :D

I thought I read the LG P430(with the same thin bezel) was suppose to have a pretty acceptable screen quality. Would that not be the case here since it could be the same screen?

I'm really liking the looks of the ID47... hopefully it won't have a crappy screen. I wonder when reviews for it will start coming out?

I really like what Gateway/acer has done here, I was going to get the NV with an a8, but then I realized that the usb 3.0 trade off wasn't worth it for me. Otherwise, I would have definitely preordered. I ordered the aspire 7560 instead to replace my aging T510.
