The LifeBook AH550 is a 15.6-inch desktop replacement notebook from Fujitsu. With a starting price of $749, the AH550 includes an Intel Core i3-330m processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500GB hard drive. Higher configurations with NVIDIA dedicated graphics are also offered, with a $200 price premium. In this review we see how well the LifeBook AH550 stacks up against other 15-inch desktop replacement systems and if it's worthy of being your next purchase.

I don't see anything particularly impressive with this notebook, at least as configured. It's at most 2" thick? Given an i3 and GMA HD, it really didn't need to be. Even with the weak processor, battery life suffered. The glossy finish? That's so 4 years ago. Even HP, who really started popularizing glossy black, is moving away from it. ALPS touchpads are garbage, and so is the screen res. It really needs to be packing more standard, given how much you're comprommising in terms of physical space, money, and function.

There's a reason why most people don't have a Fujistu: there's nothing that makes them stand out.

Yeah I don't see that much special from this notebook aside from maybe an above-average build quality for a lower budget machine, but even then, at 750$, you're approaching entry level business notebooks so it's a moot point.

Tbh Fujitsu laptops/notebooks never really stood out to me either.

This laptop really seems excessively chunky for what it's packing, and at least at this non-sale price, it seems overpriced as well. There's far more compelling options available to the buyers whose needs are met by this laptop.

I can't believe the thickness either. I guess they offer dedicated graphics, but unless it's the GTX 480M, I don't understand why it is 2" thick. It's almost as bad as my 5.5 yr old Sony.

Not a huge fan of any 15" with 1366x768.

But if anyone is interested, $100 coupon code is FAGRADDISC. At $649, it seems like a bit more of a reasonable proposition.

    No eSata = fail
Fujitsu used to make some serious decent notebooks, not it''s just cheap grade laptop in a plastic case.

That's a fairly broad inference to make based on one review of one model. :)
