This morning Fujitsu literally pulled the lid off their newest laptop, the LifeBook A1110. What sets this 15-inch notebook apart from the rest is a removable and interchangeable colored lid so that you can customize the look of your laptop. Changing the lid color of your laptop is now just a simple matter of snapping the lid on or off the LCD cover. Fujitsu is currently offering three lid options (green, pink, and blue) and more colors and designs could be on the way. The "green mod labyrinth" design cover ships standard with the LifeBook A1110 notebooks. The pink lid with butterflies and the blue lid with a Victorian print are available for $19.95 each.
Of course, our readers usually care more about what's under the lid. Inside you'll find a 15.4-inch widescreen high-contrast "Crystal View" LCD, built-in camera and digital microphone, your choice of Intel Core 2 Duo processor, multi-format DVD writer and a nice mix of ports and additional features.
A spill-resistant keyboard protects the A1110 against damage from accidental spills. Additionally, Fujitsu continues to use removable dust filters next to the cooling fan so that you can periodically clean the filter and keep your laptop running cooler over the life of your notebook. We're also glad to hear that Fujitsu is including a full recovery disk is included at no charge (something fewer notebook manufacturers are doing).

- Intel Core 2 Duo Processor

- Dual-layer multi-format DVD Writer

- Webcam
- Three USB 2.0 ports, SD slot, ExpressCard slot

I'm a bit surprised that other manufacturers haven't adopted the removable dust filters.
