This is very similar to LG's piano black borderless TV design scheme. I won't be the least bit surprised if Apple releases its refreshed MB/MBP line using this styling.

Sweet. Are there any demo previews out yet? Or a mock up pic?

Does frameless mean edge-to-edge? Not really sure.

    Sounds sweet.
Looking forward to see a frameless 16" 1920x1080 (Best would be 1920x1200) notebook. :)

I'm not really sure what "frameless" means - honestly, I'm a bit confused by their description. Anyone have a mock-up picture?

If it really is referring to this, I would be very disappointed - I hate glossy screens with an additional even glossier glass overlay.

No pics, i dont get it either.

In my head i imagine its like attaching a bare LCD panel as the lid. Sounds like a super strength LCD panel.

This is confusing to me as well. My x200 Tablet is officially marketed as having a "Frameless" screen. However, it's really just an edge to edge glass writing surface as opposed to the traditional plastic bezel.

Pics or a sketch would definitely help.

Frameless basically is the lcd acts as the lid of the laptop. Gorilla glass incorporated in the panel itself acts as the stucture.

I'd love to see a 17", frameless gaming notebook. This is something I've envisioned for quite some time, and I'm excited by the news that it's coming this year.

    But at what cost?

Supposedly the frameless screens will cost the same or less than regular framed screens since less materials are needed.

What I like about these frameless screens is that it means a 12" laptop will actually be a 12" form factor laptop, not a 13.3"-sized chassis with a 12" screen. :)
