Hmm. I can reach 6110 3dMark06 at a higher 1280x768 resolution with my Clevo M570U under XP with the laptopvideo2go 160 series drivers. I do however have the 7950 GTX 512 OC'd to 620/790 and a C2D OC'd to 2.14MHz. It took a lot of tweaking to get past 6000 as well.

Is the Go8600 supposed to be a lower end DX10 model? If so, that's pretty impressive. I have to reread the article, as I was just focusing on the numbers and not really what things were spec'd. :p

Yes it is the mid range model that will fit in 14,1 and 15,4" laptops. It replaces the go7700 which only got a score of about 2200.

Oh wow, very cool! Especially the 14.1" part. The big question in my mind is the Go 8800.

Those scores are running at a lower resolution than 3dmark06 default?

And as we've seen with this series game scores are a totally different matter. The 8600GTS scores 2000 (2000!) 3dmark06 points ahead of the 7900gs and can't even match it in gaming performance at very low resolutions. Any resolution higher than 1280x1024 with any high settings enabled renders the 8600 almost unplayable.

Im placing my money on the 7700go being faster than the 8600go when it comes down to medium resolutions + AA/AF enabled (which everyone does).

Well, d'uh. I'm pretty sure they signed a contract that allows nVidia to pull out nails and use hot pokers if they steal the focus of their large launch plans.

Those scores are rivaling my 1500M, but I was doing them at default res. I'm still more interested in actual gaming performance though.

Actual gaming performance might be lower than 1500M (in this case,8600gt) in dx9,mainly due to lower memory bus bw..
