Desktops have been the undisputed king when it comes to PC gaming, and while the platform isn’t quite ready to relinquish the crown yet, the gap between desktops and laptops is shrinking rapidly. Helping to bridge that divide is the Eurocom Sky X9, a powerful gaming rig with an optional desktop-grade Nvidia GeForce 980 GPU. It’s a desktop replacement in truest sense of the word. Armed with an Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 64GB of RAM and a cornucopia of storage options including RAID 0 configurations, the Sky X9 is capable of tackling almost anything you throw at it. The sky's the limit for this gaming behemoth, the only issues is that the price tag soars just as high.

    Nice review, Michael.

I really love this monster laptop. It's definitely refreshing to have such a powerful beast available in a market overrun by a plethora of anemic thin and light "gaming" notebooks with BGA processors.

Does the Sky X9 come with the prema bios or does one still need to install it?

If you buy the Sky X9 E it should come with the enthusiast BIOS and vBIOS that @Prema created for Eurocom. If you flash the vBIOS or BIOS with any firmware that Eurocom does not provide to you and pre-authorize you to flash then they may not provide any warranty coverage if something goes wrong with the motherboard or GPU(s). So, never flash any firmware (even directly from Prema) while it is under warranty without talking to them first.

If you plan to buy any machine from Eurocom from outside Canada or the US I advise you to not pay the VAT on their website.
I did so but they refuse to send me a correct invoice listing the VAT which is very unpleasant for me (located in Germany) because now I cannot deduct the VAT. When selling the machine they were fast in contact with me, but with this legal issue nothing happens.

    So be very careful.
