    GeForce Grid seems really nice technology, hard to set up because of costs of virtualizing GPU's...

    True! But that's where NVIDIA's solution shines - they provide the GRID, and then partner with streaming providers. So companies can work with NVIDIA for the tech; NVIDIA isn't giving out the know-how for companies to set up on their own with banks of GPUs. At least, not yet.

    if successful, wouldn't this harm Nvidia's gpu business? :p

    btw, since you guys are there, any news on external graphics cards? hearing lots of talk about thunderbolt based ones, but haven't really seen anything materialize

    Nope. I counted only a handful of notebooks at the show PERIOD, which was a big change from previous years - trust me, I tried pretty hard to track down something with a 680M. :p

    As for harming external GPUs, that's something I commented on in the story, and asked Phil about right after I shut off the camera. He made the good point that the kind of gamer who is likely to buy an expensive GPU isn't the kind who is probably satisfied with the level of quality this thing brings - remember, right now it's limited to 720p, and you still need a fast Internet connection with very low latency to take advantage.

    based on what i see here, engadget, etc..
    it certainly seems like half or more than half of the notebooks presented were ultrabooks :eek:
