NotebookReview.com Reviews for these Dell Laptops:

    Inspiron 9300 Review: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2256&review=Inspiron+9300

The Inspiron 9300 is Dells flagship desktop replacement notebook computer. Sporting a choice of two 17" widescreen displays, it is aimed at buyers who desire power and value over ultimate mobility. Dell took a very different approach with this desktop replacement, however. With an Intel Pentium M instead of the hot running, power hogging Pentium 4, this laptop is perhaps the smallest, lightest, and longest running 17" PC notebook available.

    Inspiron 700m Review: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2022

The Dell Inspiron 700m sits on the borderline of being an ultraportable (usually determined as a notebook weighing 3 -- 4 lbs) notebook and a thin-and-light style notebook (defined as a notebook weighing 4 -- 6 lbs). With a gorgeous 12.1" widescreen, 4.1 lbs of weight and 1.5 inches of thickness this notebook is certainly small and highly mobile, yet still big enough that isvery usable given the widescreen viewing and decent, though not full, sized keyboard it has. Let's get on with a full review of the good and the bad of this Inspiron 700mlaptop.

    Inspiron 6000 Review: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2344

The Dell Inspiron 6000 is Dell's first notebook to be released that includes the latest Intel Sonoma platform. The Inspiron 6000 is a 15.4" widescreen notebook that best acts as a desktop replacment since it weighs about 7lbs. With a price of around $1500 when configured with a Pentium M 730 1.6GHz processor, this notebook offers decent performance to cost ratio, but the look and build is rather underwhelming overall.

    Example Opinion:

Pros: For a inexpesive portable solution that weights in under 6lbs with options and a 15" display it's a fantastic buy. Just make sure you load it up with at least 512 and be smart and do a single 512 so you can upgrade it. I think the overall performance is pretty decent much better than I ever expected to get.

Cons: Keyboard is a bit small and layout is kinda crowded. It seems that there was plenty of room for them to work wiht to put a nicer larger keyboard in. Key's are a bit klunky and fingers sometimes snag the bottom of the key's on an upstroke. Just be carefull thats all. I dont know how this thing would hold up to an accident and I dont really care to know. I use a neopreen slip case to move it from place to place. Last but deffinitely not least no mic, no serial, no IR, no Bluetooth and only 1 PCMCIA. Be carefull to ensure all of your existing periphrials support USB or you have a serial to usb adapter, otherwise it aint going to work. Just some things to consider and what you do put up with for paying less. I'm sure someone here could give you allot more reasons not to get one but, I'm overall very happy with it.

When Dell does these $750 off coupons do they jack the base price up? Or will a Dell 9300 configured to cost $1500 come down to $750 after applying the coupon?

Ok, cause I'm freaking out here trying to sell my I6000 to get an I9300 w/ the coupon (which isn't gonna happen). There are always more coupons anyways, so I guess I can wait.

I'm just trying to get the most basic 9300 but with the 256mb 6800 Go. It only costs $1298 through Small Business though, which is a pretty good price.

They don't jack the base price up; usually, they don't even have any special requirements. Recently the coupons have been crap, though. Last week they tried to force a 3 year warranty on you to get the coupon, and this week they heavily constrain the configuration choices (both the processor and hard drive I wanted are unavailable). Hopefully they should be back to regular, no-restrictions coupons soon (usually around the 4th of July they'll have a big sale).

Yeah, recently these $750 coupons haven't been as good, but I decided to highlight them on the site anyway because they work for some people. There will be more no doubt, the best one they ever offered still remains the October 2004 $750 off coupon when they first did it.

agree. the first $750 off was the best. now it's all over the place. the $750 off on sb was the 2nd best i think. cuz it comes with free upgrades. waiting for the 40% off coupon to show up. javascript:insertsmilie('[ :D]')
    Big Smile [ :D]

and recently, whenever dell does the $750, they do jack up the base price as well as some of the upgrade prices. on top of that, they restrict the configuration.

I am interested in buying a I9300, but want to wait till a good coupon comes out - should I assume that the best one for sometime will be out around July 4th? Any suggestions how I should go forward?

Also I have seen the review for the 9300 on this site and it sounds about right for me.. My only concern is the screen, can anyone point me to a thread specifically for that issue? Thanks in advance and I LOVE the site !!!
