<!-- Generated by XStandard version 1.7.1.0 on 2006-11-20T12:42:56 -->Starting today Dell will be offering its U.S. customers the option of configuring a Latitude D420, D620, D820, Precision M65 and the Inspiron M1210 with Sprint EV-DO built-in. Previously the only option for integrated EV-DO with Dell notebooks was Verizon. Sprint will offer unlimited data access via EV-DO for $59.99/month when you sign a 2-year service plan or $79.99/month for a 1-year service plan.
In order to get the built-in EV-DO wirless via Sprint customers will need to configure their machine with the Dell Wireless 5700-S mobile broadband EVDO mini-card -- this available from Dell for $179. If you already purchased a system you can still purchase the card seperately and upgrade by opening the mini-PCI slot and inserting this card.
Sprint Mobile Broadband service is available in more than 220 major U.S. cities and 486 airports nationwide. Customers interested in this offer will be eligible for available plans including one-month free service and unlimited data access for $59.99 a month, the catch is you have to sign a two-year Sprint subscriber agreement to get this rate and a free month. You can sign a 1-year agreement but it'll cost $79.99/month for unlimited access. For the rate of $39.99/month on a month to month contract you can get 40MB of data and if you go over it's $0.001/kb of data dowloaded and if you hit $99.99 of expenses in one month all data is free after that and no long-term agreement has to be signed.
