This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Dell sued for switching CPU in machines bound for China

    Engadget reports that Dell is being sued for shipping the T2300E CPU instead of the T2300 CPU. The difference is that the E version omits support for Intel's Virtualization Technology.

    Dell seems to be imploding with gaffes like this becoming the norm. True the recent battery fiasco was the fault of the battery manufacturer (Sony), but the Dell that seems to be showing up (battered and bruised) in the media these days is a FAR cry from the darling of the computer industry from several years ago.
