I've been consistently playing around with the XPS customizer for a few weeks now, and I'm fairly positive they recently changed the stock price and hardware options with the m1530.

The options for the wireless cards with cell phone compatibility(not sure what the technical term for that is) used to have 3 options:Verizon, AT&T and some other big telco. Now it's just Verizon. Additionally, the price is listed as $100 more($1,599 instead of $1,499) Anyone else see this? Why the change?

I'm wondering also if Verizon has worked out a deal with the mainstream laptop resellers to only make their cards available on new laptop purchases...wouldn't surprise me, the sneaky....sneaks.

They change the configurations all the time. Keep an eye out for a deal that suits your needs.

yeah they did change the 1499 to a 1599 deal, and it now has a t9300 instead of a t8300, a 250 gig hd, instead of a 320(and no option for the 320 5400rpm either that use to come with it, they must have run out or something), and it now has the 8400gs instead of the 8600gt(you can upgrade for a $100 though). Buch worse deal imo, a slightly better cpu would not be worth a worse gpu and less hd space for the same price, let alone 100 dollars more.

Luckily I ordered right before they switched the deal >_> But yeah they switch the configuration all the time, wait till next week and see if its back to what it used to be. The week before last it was even worse, as they were having the summer saving event so they completely trashed the max configuration deal in order to get people to go with that instead.

Yeah I've been way to obsessed with playing around with their configurator this past month or two, since I want a new comp so bad since my current one is just so slow sometimes(made circa 2003, needs more ram, also could use a reformat but I can't as I need to save my dad to bring over to my lappy and don't feel like dealing with backing it all up when I'll have said lap top in a few weeks) so I've been playing with the configurator and drooling over the results for a while.

I kinda wanted to wait till july 15th to see if they refreshed with montevina, but that was pushing it way to close to when i go off to college, seeing as they are taking like month to arrive now, and they will no doubt be even more backloged when montevina hits, and I have to be their august 21st. Also as I said I want a new comp asap since my current one is so slow.
