-
Did you notice the other HDD options? They have a 200GB 7200RPM SATA drive option, didn't even know those were available...
-
Yeah, I noticed that..but i was going for the highest performance and highest price when i was customizing..
Does 7200RPM HDD make alot of noise??? am worried abot that in addition to power consumption. -
Well, by choosing the LED screen, the Camera will automatically drop to a VGA from 2 Megapixels.
-
-
Thats really good price, and LED for 0$.. awesome. Too bad im in europe and I have to wait it to appear in Dell netherlands.. Might take some time, and doubt it will go that cheap over here..
-
No freakin way!!! LED option is free?!
[Edit:] Nevermind, my enthusiasm was premature. Canadians get a way better deal than US. Free LED upgrade. Cheaper price, even in CND. -
It's on the US site as well - with 8600 GT as an option for the 1720 for $200 more

can they ship to US
-
This is truelly amazing! I am looking at the dell website and I do have a question. Under the hard drive section I have no idea what the 32GB Solid State Drive is. Do you?
A video of the m1330!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=BCeHxyGuED0 -
WOW..NoW IN US!!! I can't wait til it gets to Malaysia!.
Question.. Why in Canada the fingerprint reader not available???? In US there's that option...! -
WOW, Talk about WAY overpriced.
-
1. Difference between the LED display and standard one: Well, the LED display is brighter and critics say the image is much better in new macpro with LED than the previous one. and it consumes less power which i think is its the strongest selling point. 2.0 Megapixel has higher quality than VGA (Only 0.3MP).
2. SOLID STATE DISK [SSD] is a hardisk that doesn't use plattes, instead it uses Flash memory to store data. therefore, it's almost with no noice at all, and consumes less power than standard hardisk. the only drawback is that it's still expensive and limited in Capacity I think the maximum capacity u can find is 250GB but it's super super expensive.
I hope i did answer ur questions to some extent. -
In the US site, it seems to be a 150$ upgrade to LCD backlighting. You can get the 0.3 MP camera free though with that upgrade.
-
and man Dell is much much cheaper compared to Sony's laptops with same specs... So u get the style, the performance, and the lightweight, but with much lesser money.
For me, i believe it's moderate price, somehow falls in the high price range, but I'm certain many people won't mind spending on such beauty.. -
It's officially on the US website!! Check it out guys!
$1684 is the base price :/ -
There's a bug on Dell US site. 3 yr warranty is cheaper than 2yr and 1 yr warranty.
-
And accidental damage protection is only $69!!
-
I just specced out a 1420 for $1739 including a Core Duo T7300 (4MB cache/2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB) with a 7200 160Gb HDD. A similar specced 1330 with only a Core Duo T7100 (2MB cache/1.8GHz/800Mhz FSB) was $50 more. Hopefully the same chip will be offered on the 1330.
I'm on the West coast of Canada. I think I'll go to bed and make a decision in the morning.... -
Dell's pricing for all of the new models are really screwed up (on both sites). Its probably best to wait until morning for the announcements to go official and let Dell sort out their website problems.
-
Thanks for your answers. Yeah, the dell website is changing the prices constantly.
-
-
Well, if the prices for both US and Canada stay the way they are, I might need some trustworthy person in Canada to receive one from Dell and then ship it to me in the States.
-
-
At the moment, or more like the milisecond, the lowest price is 1299 in the US. That is exceptional! You know, it says it can have a 2.4GHz processor. I don't see it in the customization yet but I wonder how much that will be?
-
My xps m1330 configuration was $2300. >_< Then another $200 for my tom bihn bag/bag accessories... Then ANOTHER $200 for more accessories.
I need a job.
Anyone know if the 9 cell battery fits flush with the case?
edit: Inspiron 1420 came through at $1730. That's better. -
-
Well, when I posted that, it was saying $1684 for the base model, which now is $1299 with identical specs. Not really an error in the favour of anyone except Dell
-
The battery is a bit ugly but I want 9 cell.
-
-
I'm a mobile person, and I need a 9cell battery, but i will hesitate to get it if it will distort the beauty of M1330...Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
look for yourself

I don't actually mind the 9 cell on the m1210 it looks stupid yes but I could live with it. This one looks very odd indeed..although the angle it leaves the laptop at on the desk might add to the comfort..won't know until I try one.
-
Just spoke to Dell India...the 1330 is expected to be up on the site only by July 1st....
(this would hold true for all of Asia-Pacific I suppose...Singapore, Malaysia, HK and Australia)
The pricing is expected to be at par with the launch price of the 1210 (i.e around the 55- 60 K INR mark for the base model)
Damn, I really love my 1210 and now I am having serious thoughts about selling that off for the 1330 -
This brings up a question. In the US the m1330 is already up on the website and customers can even buy it. This means that it is up for sale and dell will ship today? Or does dell hold it until a later opening date?
-
Many thanx for the dud who posted the video review!
I'm expecting the price in Malaysia to be minimum of RM4700.. Geez I have to save for three months to get this babe.
I already sold my XPS...the price was going tooo down...and i had to sell it coz since i saw the first look of M1330 in engadget..I knew it is time for change. -
-
Its the 27th of June tomorrow..
Is that what you meant? -
Sorry for da lil error...
after lil check, it seems u can order now, but the build time is 30 days... so if u order now..u gonna get ur babe in one month time... I think this is because as a new model they dont have enuf suppliers yet to cover the highly anticipating market. -
Probably is what he meant. But HEY!! The Dell website has taken off the option of the 2.4GHz for the m1330. I'm hoping this is a bug as usual. I always saw it in the tech specs but not in the customization options! Noooooo!
-
2.4GHZ taken out...hmmm.. well, i think i'm ok with that.. man 2.4 is alot of power for a laptop...and u can get the extra money and add lil more juicy specs that u'd actually need and use like 4GB RAM or 200GB HDD... 2.0 i guess is enuf.. Jst my lil opinion! -
Heh - I'm still holding fire until dell announce what the replacement for the xps 1710 is... my GF is very excited about this one as she's loved her 1210.
-
Well, I was hoping to get a 2.4GHz because i want a powerful notebook. Going to a 2.2...thats not a big difference is it? The replacement of the 1710 will be amazing im sure. Just looking at the specs of the 1710 right now is awesome.
-
SSD... Solid State drive functions very much like a thumb drive
Pros:
Fast initial response
Energy efficient...very much
Quiet
Cooler
Cons:
Slower response with larger files
(Depending on who's memory and how well it is built, this could be N/A)
Expensive
Has a very good record of being wiped when going through an airport...
I have yet to get to the terminal with a working SSD...everything is just erased beyond recovery...not a good feature. -
lol i didn't know about SSD's.
thats a terrible selling point..not that was even considering one. i'd rather have a power sucking 7200rpm drive. -
im in ur new dell laptop looking at my reflekshun
Grrr... no matte screen option. I hate glossy screens. -
Which battery would be flush with the rear of the laptop? The video states that the 6 cell battery is flush, but the default option comes with a 4 cell battery.
I want to get the 9 cell for when I need it, but I also want one that sits flush. I'd rather get the 6 cell one if it's flush, but I'll opt for the 4 cell if it keeps the footprint of the laptop smaller (and not at an angle). -
Check the review. That shows the 9 cell battery. I like the idea but I hate the hump that the 9 cell produces. I hope it fits into the newly designed Tom Bihn Buzz bag.
Anyways, I bought the XPS 1330 last night on the Canada site. Dell Canada made a mistake and offered only the Thin and Light LCD (Backlit LCD) as an option. This morning they removed it and replaced it with the regular LCD as the only option. They also bumped up the price 50 bucks from last night. That alone probably saved me $250.
In all the price for exactly the same configuration on the US site is $1924 US as opposed to the $1824 Cdn on the Cdn dell site I got last night.
The bad thing about this... It will not be shipping until August 13th! -
heh, dell fixed their website in Canada
They might actually see a profit with that change haha.
congrats to the people who jumped on the free LED screen, free 200gb hard drive, and free 9-cell -
