Today Dell launched the Studio Design for the Inspiron 15, letting users pick custom artwork for the lids of their notebooks, for a modest sum. This will help customers pick the design they want on their new notebook, varying from simple patterns to complex pieces of artwork. To order a new Inspiron 15, follow this link to the Design Studio.

To contrast the new fully custom Design Studio, Dell is also offering a FastTrack service for customers who need a notebook ASAP. Dell will have preconfigured models (which are updated to meet changing demands) ready to ship out next business day. This will include consumer notebooks, as well as business notebooks from the Latitude lineup. Dell understands that most customers will still end up making a custom notebook, but in some situations companies can't wait a week for a computer to ship out. If a worker breaks a notebook, a new guy is hired, or if someone just needs a new laptop before a big trip, Dell wants to make sure they can fill that niche.
