    Dell Offers Crimson Red Option for Studio XPS 16

    Dell is now offering a "Crimson Red High Gloss Finish" option on its Studio XPS 16; at the moment, the option only appears when customizing the machine on Dell's US Small Business website. It is a $50 option over the standard black.

    wouldnt be so bad if it was a matte or rubbery red finish. the gloss imo is to much..

    I think I like the look of the last gen. XPS better. The gloss is kind of . . . yeah too much. (Not to mention hard to keep clean!)

    I can handle one of that size, trust me. On another note, I love the whole design, maybe Dell buying Alienware is helping with the design process.

    My Daughter in law brought her 1 day old studio 16 (black) to my house today to get some software set up for her.

    It's a real nice rig but I was cringing at what a fingerprint magnet it is. The lid and the palm rest/keyboard surround are very glossy.

    It looks nice though and feels like a very solid machine.

    I tried to order it in red this morning and that's when they informed me that it was an error. I checked before ordering because I thought it was strange that the red option was only available on the small business site and not on the home site.

    So a new person is automatically considered a liar in this forum??????

    My guess is that you were trying to order over the phone, because the there is no red option on dells website. So it still might be coming, it's just not here yet ;)

    I bet it does come out in Red and probably other colors, just not yet. Although I don't doubt JWDD in the least, I bet the people at Dell are denying that their is/will be a red option as they want you to order now and not wait. (And JWDD, I don't believe anything personal was meant, just wondering the source of your claim.)
