Dell has released a new budget Inspiron notebook, the Dell Inspiron 2200.Dell iscalling it a notebook that "provides you with essential computing at an affordable price." It can be configured with a 14.1" or 15.0" display, Intel Celeron M or older Dothan Pentium M and as little as a 90-day warranty. Prices start at under $700 andbasicallythe Inspiron 2200 isa mild step up from the low budget Inspiron 1000.

    Dell Inspiron 2200 Specs

    • Processor: Intel Celeron M 1.40GHz/1.50GHz or Pentium M 725 (1.60GHz, 400MHZ FSB, 2MB Cache)

    • Warranty: Minium of90-days, configurable with up to 4-year warranty

Not too much to get excited about with this laptop folks. It looks to be the same construction as the Dell Inspiron 1000, which is not very good and rather ugly aesthetically. It's all plastic and not very thick plastic at that. But the selling point with the Inspiron 2200 is of course the price. Prices start at $679 currently for a basic configuration with Free 2-day shipping and Free Internal Wireless card.

Decent price. I am not a fan of the resolution available but otherwise it's a good deal for budget minded people or high school/college students.
