Awesome to hear. I'm not looking to have a high end multimedia laptop, something I can game on and fill with movies/music, so this seems like a solid way for me to go. Just have to wait!

What do you guys think these will be priced at?

I'm guessing right around where the m1330 and m1550 came in - who knows.

I'm just praying for more info regarding GPUs!

I'm starting to agree. The Vostro's have a better look to them. Just my personal opinion of course. :)

While I like the lines of the Vostro, I think they're thick and round like a certain Sir Mix-A-Lot song. Don't get me wrong, they're great budget machines if you have a hard target price of $800 and still want discrete graphics, but prices are coming down everywhere; for $200 more than that, I got my T61.

I tend to compare Dell's current Latitude line to the Lenovo ThinkPad R and T series --I expect a real quality build in terms of hinges, keyboard, fit/finish, etc. Currently, I think Dell probably beats Lenovo in overall customer service and battery life, but I think Lenovo has the better keyboard and hinges (the rest is a tossup as build quality goes; I think they're both pretty good, though the Lenovo T series is thinner).

I hope that Dell's new machines are a step forward, just like their D620/630 and D820/830 (IMO) were a big step up from the previous D6xx/8xx lines, which I didn't find were anything to write home about. We'll just have to wait and see.

Might anyone have information on an upcoming Inspiron (consumer) line? These do look good, but they look very "businesslike", and I want something that would look a little nicer on my coffee table at home.

Might we expect similar specs, though? What about pricing?

Would USB 3.0 be realistically included in this release? or will we have to wait for the next refresh?

No, USB 3.0 is coming in 2009/2010.

    The laptop looks HOT !

I hope the newer WUXGA panels dont go down in quality. They say brighter, nope they dont introduce backlight bleeding.
Man, we need LED lit WUXGA panels

Dell has no control on the LED screens. I don't think any manufacturers have made 15.4" LED screens w/ WUXGA.
