this is all good, but can we have the country of origin, posted in these offers?
i know its easy to assume it the USA, but alot of countries use dollars as a currency, and it would just help to avoid some confusion
thanks.

Those Thinkpads are becoming disgustingly cheap before the new models launch. Great value.

The HP $500 off coupon doesn't work with the dv5t, I tried it. I didn't test any of the other newer models though.

excludes hdx entertainment notebook, dv4t, dv5z, dv5t, dv7t, and dv7z

The list of models eligible for the $500 coupon off any configuration over $1399 only includes the dv9700z (AMD), but I have confirmed that it will also work on the dv9700t (Intel).
Definitely good news considering that HP has pulled the discrete graphics option from the dv9700z- it only comes with integrated nVIDIA 7150M. The dv9700t has the 256mb nVIDIA 8400M GS standard and the upgrade to the 512 nVIDIA 8600M GS is half price at $50.
I'm debating whether I should take the plunge and place my order for a dv9700t at $900 after the coupon....or wait for the new dv7z series to go on sale in a few months??? The new ATI Radeon 3450 hybrid graphics is very impressive...but with the 2.1GHz Turion Ultra processor it'd run about $1250 right now. The price will only go down, I'm hoping... -

Then again, it's quite possible I'm having one of my frequent "borderline-retarded" episodes... =)
Actually, regardless of whether my statement was correct or not, I am very excited about the integrated ATI Radeon 3200's performance. When I buy my next notebook, it will be much easier (and cheaper) not having to be so concerned about whether it has a discrete graphics card or not. -
I owned the Dv5z for a brief period of time and can confirm that, currently, Hybrid graphics is not happening. It is either locked at the hardware level or in the BIOS. Only one display adapter shows up in the device manager. And I updated to the most recent version of Catalyst and there was nothing in the driver to indicate it was possible.
That was the whole reason I wanted the laptop, but since it could not be found functional, well, the laptop went bye-bye. -
Really bad that coupon dont work on new HP otherwise it would be a very good deal

A very good deal, but a very bad business move (for selling your new pcs for so low)
