I've been anticipating Intel's Merom chip for some time, but am in need of a laptop before the end of August/ very early September, as I am going to college. I really want a 64 bit processor for Vista, and I know that Merom is coming out in the second half August. I have reviewed manyyyyy notebooks over the last few months and have a few favorites, such as the Acer Travlemate 8200, but I really want the new chip inside these machines. How long do you think it will be till we start seeing big companies such as Acer and Dell making notebooks that have Merom built in?

    Thanks,
    Kulupa
