This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Well, that adds yet another ODM manufacturer.

    Since HP/Compaq merged, would Compaq also have ASUStek as the ODM?

    yeah, whenever HP has a new laptop made I think they tell the ODM "here's what we want, and oh by the way make another just the same but a different color" which is usually the major difference between a compaq and hp notebook -- aesthetic with maybe a couple of different component supplier differences.

    If i'm not mistaken or I wasn't hallucinating at the time, I could swear I read somewhere that Dell would also be using Asus for their ultra-portables in the imminent future.
