I was at Computex Taipei this week talking to all the notebook manufacturer representatives that were at the show and seeing what they have in the works. This show is the second biggest notebook related trade show in the world, right behind the CeBIT event that takes place in Germany each year.

Here's afew pictures of what was on display at the show:

Intel practically bought the place out with their marketing at Computex, the ironic thing was that their actual floorspace was garbage and located on the 4th floor of an out of the way building. They blew their budget on umbrellas and banners I guess.

AMD had a strong showing too

Asus made a strong showing with their notebooks

nVidia had a strong showing, they were serving up green ice-cream (below), these girls were adventurous, I was unsure if it was pea flavored or something and so avoided it

Did it ever occur to you that the green colored ice-cream was probably something boring like green tea ice cream? :)

Thanks for the pictures. I'm waiting to buy a laptop and have my focus on the upcoming Fujitsu s7021 or s6240. Both are due for release this month afaik.

there were a lot of notebooks there that are not sold in the us of a, which is kind of frustrating since there were a lot of good offerings.

you're right on the ice cream, it was probably something boring...and more likely than anything vanilla with green food coloring! buy for some reason i was associating peas to green at that time. i did by a bottle of green tea soon after this picture though.

Remotely only. There's too much going on right now for us to get out there. We will be at other upcoming shows though including Microsoft's TechEd and the C3 Expo in June.
