    TN71M

Below is the Intel Atom-based tablet, the TN71M.

    It has the following specifications:

    • Intel Atom processor
    • Intel US15W chipset
    • Integrated graphics
    • 7-inch WSVGA (1024x600) display with touch support
    • 802.11b/g wireless
    • 2.0 megapixel webcam
    • Fingerprint reader
    • ExpressCard slot

"From my hands-on experience, the TN71M leaves much to be desired in terms of overall build quality. The plastic case was very cheap and flexible, and would bend with the slightest touch. While the specifications are fine for a notebook of that size, without a durable shell it would fall apart in a matter of weeks."

I'm glad to see clevo using ATI.

I also want that 15" powerhouse.

But I don't really like the hinges, but I could live with it.

I believe the X2 may imply that its a dual GPU's on a single card.

It is an X2 model, which sort of means a dual core low-end, rather than dual low end individual cards.

They could prove to be fairly effective, the same way dual cores improved upon single cores.

I'm wondering if this is the mobile version of having crossfire by having a HD3200 chipset motherboard and a HD3450/3470 etc. graphics card...?

True, but it certainly isn't standard CrossFire. I'd say it is halfway between a dual core GPU and two separate GPUs slapped together. From what I've read, the bridge chip has been upgraded the PCI-E 2.0, which should make them perform quite well compared to the 3870 X2 bridge.

    .

I feel that, at the next WWDC (or sooner) Apple may introduce its Atom based EEE-like subnotebook, and it may have these specs and looks like a small "eeeAir":

Clevo does NOT design, manufacture, or sell notebooks for large brand OEMs (Dell, Apple, Sony, HP, etc..). The main ODMs that do that are usually Quanta and Compal.... which does about 90% of the world's notebooks.

Clevo is an ODM for boutique/custom brands... so you won't find them in large retail stores.

Just for my info since I can't find this anywhere, will one 8800m gtx beat any of the Mobility x2's?

    yes.

the mobility x2's are mid-range cards... at best.

no dual mid-range cards (in a mobile environment) has yet to defeat a single high-end 8800M GTX.

    look at the GPU Guide.

Love the Clevo design! Much better than alienware flashy designs. I wonder how the X2 cards will stack up against the 8800m GTX?

I'm sure there's many out there (especially college students) who really want a "netbook" that can run OSX and has an Apple logo on the lid. :)

Would make great sales for Apple.

maybe... however, a 9" display eeeAir is the perfect product to put between the iPhone and the MacBook Air (that has a 50% bigger 13.3" display)

The M860TU looks very interesting. Its like the M15x, except better, since its not an Alienware and thus probably will have better support from resellers and such.

What the hell is this eeeAir thing? Apple would be stupid not to make a netbook, but I wouldn't expect it until MacWorld 09...I'd buy one if they made it though, especially if it looked like the MacBook.

The 860TU should be a nice competition for the m15x , yes, but what worries me is that it will have only 1 fan :)

are the 9600 series and ATI equivalents going to be available this summer for the new strings of lappies?
