I could have sworn this had a widescreen. Wait, didn't Compaq release a 12" widescreen notebook as well in Asia with a model number similar to this?

    The W3v you mean ;)

Hmm, it looks like it has one 512mb RAM soldered onto the motherboard, 1.5gb RAM is the max..

Edit: I have an odd feeling that it's an ASUS ODM...

    I Knew It!!!

Its the widescreen version of the M9v!! I saw the specs for the B2800 and it was freakishly similiar to the M9v!!

    It's not widescreen?

I swear I saw WXGA on the B2800 spec char and XGA on the M9v

the Cnet links just say 14.1 no widescreen. the other site says
"Compaq Presario B2800 Notebook also features a 14” XGA BrightView screen for brilliant colour display and sharp picture contrast"

but at the bottom it then says 14" xga widescreen. but it's pretty obvious that it's not a widescreen.

i went ahead and did a very careful comparison between the M9v and this model..

and i can say it's 90% the same! all the port layouts are exactly the same.. as well as location of the hinges, and the front LED lights.

what's different is that the top part above the keypad is different. the Compaq has quick buttons up there while the m9v has none. it also doesnt seem that the compaq has a web cam.

this pic outta conclude that it is not widescreen

Yea, the M9v also has 'vents' above the keyboard.

The whiteness of the B2800 threw me off

The specs were so similiar as well, that's what made me think ASUS after the pictures. 1.5gb max ram, 14" XGA, same weight AND dimensions(I think)...

I think so too - anybody could have stood there and taken the second pic. The first ones are special, and the background is nicer! :p

hmmm...i noticed this "14.1” XGA widescreen (1024 x 768 resolution) with latest BrightView Technology" but the pics definitely show its not a widescreen. My bad!!

aaaaaaa.....when will someone make a 4.5lb widescreen laptop to replace my 4.3lb fujitsu S7010 :fujitsu: :fujitsu: and also market it in the US!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
