<!-- Generated by XStandard version 1.7.1.0 on 2007-03-16T11:10:25 -->Asus was as usual at CeBIT this year with a large booth. They drove in with a Lamborghini to promote their VX2 Lambo notebook, and left the car parked inside. Following is a picture tour of the laptops Asus had to show off.
Asus G2P and G1
The Asus G2P 17" gaming notebook was there and lined up next to the smaller 15.4" G1 gaming notebook. The G2P was flanked by G1 notebooks, almost like a king with his knights or something.

The Asus U1 is a tiny 11.1" screen laptop with an LED backlight. It's super thin for your traveling pleasure. This notebook is actually available for pre-sale in the U.S. and will cost $2,199

Below is the Asus W2P multimedia laptop, which is large and in charge at 17". The W2P will now offer Blu-Ray or HD-DVD optical drives.

The Asus A7C is another multimedia laptop, it offers a 17" screen, Core 2 Duo processor and ATI X1450 graphics. It also has an integrated TV tuner.

Asus loves to trot this notebook out to show off the integrated Microsoft SlideShow display in the lid.

The small F9J offers a lot of power in a small frame. Core 2 Duo and Nvidia 7300 for on the go performance.
The 14" V2J is going to be offering built-in HSPDA for internet connectivity on the go. It has a Core 2 Duo processor and ATI 1450 graphics.
The Asus A8Js has a 14" screen, Core 2 Duo processor and Go 7700 graphics card for even more excellent performance when moving about. The swivel web camera is cool too.

The 15.4" Asus F3Jp has an ATI X1700 graphics card and Core 2 Duo processor. It comes with Vista these days of course.
Asus really wanted to show off this notebook, so they planted a bunch of VX2 machines surrounding a white Lambo. The VX2 has NVidia 7700 graphics, a T7400 Core 2 Duo processor and offers a LightScribe burner among other things. Yeah, it looks pretty cool too -- but its price will make you say ouch!

I like the look of the W7J, it's really quite pretty. It has a 13.3" screen, Core 2 Duo processor, Nvidia Go 7400 graphics and built-in web camera. That's a lot for such a relatively small notebook.
Checkout the R1F convertible Tablet PC to notebook. It has a 13.3" screen and apparently a Windows Vista badge now that it has graduated from Windows XP.

(view large image)Asus Phones and PDAs
And just as a reminder, Asus is no one trick pony. They make a ton of other stuff, including phones, PDAs and the hybrid SmartPhone too.

great pictures, thanks!
-
I want that one!
No, I want all of them!
Great post. Now is that car standard or an optional extra? -
sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
*DROOL* That's one heck of a line up.. Now why do the other manufacturers even exist?
-
Im kinda disappointed with Asus for including the X1700 with its G2P when it is a less powerful card than the 7700 in the G1. You would think theyd either include a similar card or better in a 17" gaming laptop.
-
Nice pictures, but I'm not so impressed about Asus either. A lot of notebook-models which are at least already a half year on the market. A lot of nice models for now indeed but for the future, not really imo.
-
forget the notebook! give me the murcielago lp640!
-
sorry mate but there was only one and i got it muahahahaha!
-
Nice pics! I was wondering if you'd seen anything about the new Asmobile notebooks Asus are releasing this month?

Asus notebooks never fail to impress!
Asus for life! -

have you heard any news regarding the XG station? I would have expected to hear some kind of update by now; on the priceing/benchmarks.
-
The F9j looks great. That's gonna be most probably me next purchase.
-
The F9 is new, looks pretty sweet!
-
I want that car... oh and that laptop too while we're at it.
-
The A8Js has a built-in TV-tuner????
-
The European one does?

The VX2 is for a market niche, and its meant for power. It represents the Lamborghini, the fastest of all. In this, everything needs to be top of the line. If you didn't know, Lamborghini and ASUS(more of Lambo) designed and planned the machine, ASUS only gave suggestions and built it. Nothing else. -

First, unlike some rare people here, I do not want spend $2000 to $3000 just to get a notebook for games. The market for high-end market notebook is just to small to be practical.
Secondly, I cannot think of any current notebook in the market that can fit all your criteria with making some major sacrifices. -
Just wish they can cut down the price for VX2 by using T7200, Vista Business is good enough no need of Vista Ultimate.
-
Will like to c VX2 in:
Santa Rose
GeForce 8700 (DX10)?
2GB RAM (One Dimm used & Upgradable to 4GB)
160GB 7200RPM HD
The the price of $3,000+ will be worth it lol...... -
oh the next w7 doesnt have the memory soldered.
Same size, asmobile model z37j. Theyre fixing that believe me. Nobody likes that.
z84j is supposed to have 7950 gtx. It should be a direct competitor to the clevo 570u although the clevo has metal in the chassis.
Im not actually sure why its been years since asus made a laptop with a dtr card. But this year they should. -
Great pictures Andrew. I'm disappointed there's nothing particularly new being shown at their booth as well.
The U1F sure looks nice. I'll even admit that the leather palmrests look better than I thought they would. Maybe not so much a dealbreaker now for me ?
