Tulip is a computer manufacturer based in The Netherlands, you won't find any of their notebooks available in the U.S. And that's just too bad if you want an egg shaped AMD Turion based laptop that Tulip had on display at CeBIT 2006.
Based on the design and choosable skins for this laptop, it seems it's squarely targeted at females, but Tulip makes no such claims and apparently this is a laptop guys can buy as well. And if you look at the specs, you'll find that this laptop is actually quite well equipped and isn't some looks-only machine.

I really doubt males would walk around with a notebook that looks like a purse when closed!

I think it would go great with my purple username. J/k
Personally, I don't like it, but I can imagine that would be a hit with the females. Definitely a one of a kind notebook.
Cheers -
Wow. That's a new high (low?) in ugly....
-
Did anyone realize the close resemblance of the old iBook???
-
Yea, I was thinking....iBook.
It makes a good weapon for those notebook snatchers, WHACK! -
it does look very much like the original iBook, circa 1999

I see your u/n has gone a bit darker ... a bit better, but... -

Hey, what do you know, it has gone a bit darker.
Yeah, I have to beat myself up a bit . .
That Tulip notebook is very similar indeed to the old Apple. Interesting. -
Metamorphical Good computer user
Shows good character that you can laugh at yourself Chazman. ^^;
Pitty they won't be available in the U.S. I may be the only person who'd want to buy one just for the leopard print...
Most females would probably hate the egg shape. Unless your Elle from Legally Blond. -

Whaaaaaaaa!!!!
That's the company where I have worked for??? Funny. -
Carrying a laptop like that isn't going to improve my ego!
-
its too pretty to be a guys laptop , we dont deserve something like that ...

But I think the laptops right now approve to BOTH males and females. The gright blue lights on the DV8000z hypnotized my sister, and it's black interior coupled with the silver exterior made me fall in love with it. I love the design of Sony and Toshiba laptops. Elegant. Simple. Thinkpads just screams, "I'm ready to work!" Pretty much the only brands I hate are Apple (too plain) and Dell (what kind of color combinations are they sticking on their laptops?)
If all of todays notebooks appeal to both males and females, it would only hurt sales to make a notebook for one. -

The leopard print and the hinge that doubles as a handle are pretty good indications that a lot of users will carry this around as if it were a brief case or purse.
Unless these are as solid as the truly ruggedized toughbooks, these are going to get the dog snot knocked out them. -
just to throw a little discussion point in here, everybody is comparing them to the looks etc of apple sony toshiba etc, but does anyone realise these things cost around 6000 euros for the base system with no extras, would you buy one for that price??

Do you realise this thread has been for about a year and a half?
