Asus had a strong showing at CeBIT. They had all of their new laptops, wi-fi VoIP phone, GPS integratedPDAsand the new R2H Origami device to name a few. Following arepictures of some of these items, consider it a virtualtour of the Asus booth:

whoa, the A8J and the V1J are real lookers.. A8J seems to be a 14" with an Nvidia 7600 if I can read that blurry inscription correct.y..and the V1J a 15.4 with an x1600.. a much better looking alternative to the A6 series :O

W2J . . . wonderful! One of the best looking notebooks I've seen.
Have to say I'm disappointed with the Lamborghini notebook, looks 'ordinary' (as compared to a regular Asus V6x), as if a logo was slapped on and that's it.
That A8J is similar in appearance to a Toshiba Satallite or maybe a small resemblence to a Uniwill IMO . . interesting. -
Wow... another addition to the V series. VERY nice...I love it.
-
Love the V6J - the video card is just 128MB though right?
I read the sign to see if they've changed it...etc. to accommodate what's coming in the W3J?
I don't know what ramifications that would have...etc.
EDIT: Did they release any info on release dates for the V1J? first I've seen it. Looks NICE. -

Well with release at a public show.... I can comment on a couple things now...
The V1j is the widescreen V model I have been hinting at. Now that you can all see a picture, I can tell you that the general ETA is August.. probably around back to school time. This is the reason the W1j isn't coming here..... If the V1j get's pushed back into the fall, then we'll get the W1j in July..... but if everything is on target, the W1j won't come and the V1j will here at the end of the summer. That's a HOT system.
With that..... anyone who sees the p525 and wants one..... drop me an email. I've got the old p505 and I'm fairly certain it's the only one on this side of the earth.... for good and bad... Asus didn't have enough support here to bring them in, even though we had hundreds of people salivating over them. I've seen different specs, but this one claimed to be VoIP... I've seen GSM specs and that's what the old was also.... but it's a hot new design and I would like to find the support to bring these in - because I want another one!
... and on another note...... the F3j looks a LOT like the Z96j... so take a good look if you're interested in that model.. -

Is it just me or does the V1j have a curved keyboard? My eyes must be playing tricks on me. x.x;
I've always wanted a pink laptop. ^^; Some very pretty looking laptops, not that I expected less from Asus. Thanks again for the pictures Mr. Baxter. -

The "romantic asus display" picture is of two S6f's...... one in pink croc and one in white croc....

Guess it hit its target audiance with me... <<;

Jack digs that V1J!!! He hopes it has WSXGA+, too.

No aurguement there. =)
-
I just learned that the V1J will have a 256MB X1600, a docking station option and weigh only 6 pounds (even less than the Z70Va)!!! It won't be in the U.S. until late summer, but it looks more and more like it'll be worth the wait.

ASUS does make fantastic notebook. But they really need to work on their CRM in Australia. Their tech support was the awful. I had one techie screaming at me coz he couldn't find the two dead pixels which i had already showed them ><;

I prefer the reflection in the Origami device!
No insult intended, AB. -
Anyone know the expected price of the V1J? Will it definitely be more expensive than the W3J? Up till now I've been all gung-ho about the W3J but this V1J is starting to make me reconsider.

That camera has a flash? ;
-
Is the V1J going to be an ensemble model that is going to replace the M6?
It would be awesome if they make a built-on ASUS based on that chasis... -
The stuff all looks good...except i hate how the webcam is so "obvious" in that the "platform" of it constrast too much with the edge of the LCD screen.
Well thats my opinion after lookin at the V6 for 10 mins...so thats unfair -
UPDATE: Looks like the price is gonna be between $1900 - $2500. If true, that'll take it off the table for me. I'm investing in a hi-end desktop and want to keep my next notebook's price around $1500 - $1800 tops. Maybe there will be a "built-on Asus" version, as jsis suggested. -

All hail ASUS
Sweet, The V6 series need a widescreen version, I know what I'm getting next -
-
LOL!
In a year, at the least.
You should follow SRD, he's gone through 3-4 ASUS laptops already -
The more I read about the V1J, the more I like it. I haven't found out if it has DVI (maybe its docking station will have it, which is fine w/me) or whether WSXGA+ will be an option.
-
HUH? What the .... are these F*j models??
I don't know anything about these...
Are they the successor for another "old" serie of notebooks? -
Did anyone notice that the F3J pic was posted twice in the article?
-
-
On another topic, does anybody know which of these will and will not be available in the US?
-
Don't expect a few to appear here, The W1j is less then likely, as is a few others. But we won't know for sure until they actually come out...
-
Is there a 13.3" ensemble coming to America? The W7J isn't even on the press release on Asus' site, which has some of the info if you can't read those signs http://www.asus.com/news_show.aspx?id=2478
edit: should have read the thread on V1J's in the Asus board nvm -
The z35f?
If so, yea, it's gonna be a barebone model here I believe -

Noooo!!!! No WSXGA. Why did they downgrade the W1? Didn't it start off its life with a WSXGA screen?
-
I believe it did, though it was matte, in this case, its glossy
-
I'm still very curious about the F2J
Just wonder how long we'll have to wait... -
Just wondering if anyone here got more specs on the Asus P525 PDA? Thanks.
-
i'm also very interested in this new P525 PDA from Asus. Am currently using an I-mate Jasjar and K-Jam but this new Asus seems to be worth a look. any info is greatly appreciated
-
Asus A8J seems very nice
When it will be available? -
hm so those pics were old, v6j is old already, v1j is just in europe still?
so any asus with a V in it is thin? so the v1j is a 15.4" thin laptop whiile the v6j is only 15"
any ohter differences i guess the v1j had some other minor additions but its still not core 2 duo.
the white one looked nice and bigger then the white 12" w5f or whateve (its hard to remember thise model names)
but i haven't seen that white one, a larger white one than the 12" would be a nice option for ppl who like the white macs but want pc.
the first one w8j? looked the best cus of the metal finish on inside below keys while the rest including the one that someone said looked great all just look plain, that first one was the only one that looked metal on the front below keys on either side of mouse pad.
so where can 1 ge a v1j for a good price? is it onlly in europe. can import/buy from merchant online i assume but will it have anyting that wont work for north america being european? its all the same right? its only if the keys are in chinese its a problem but in europe their keys are english mostly i think, hm.
